Tuesday. Two days ago. I got up early to go to the bank to get some money from my paycheque that had I had been ASSURED would be in my account in the morning. Alas, my pay had fucked up severely… [snip all the shitty things that happened that day until…] I left my fucking wallet on the effing tram at 5.00 pm. Heh. At least there was no money in it!! I rang the tram depots and I rang the general lost property and then I reluctantly cancelled my Uni card, just in case whoever had my wallet was aware that they could check-out 30 books at a time…and I would be responsible for them. I had already rung the tram-depots and the lost property folk, but even by this morning (Thursday) there was no response. So today was filled with organising my ‘cards’. I got my student card re-issued (for $20 and much humiliation when they informed me that this is the THIRD time I’ve lost it!!). I’ve been to govt departments and been to the bank and the housing office and so on and so forth…etc, etc, etc, filling out replacement forms and getting cards reissued. When I got home today, there was a letter waiting for me from the Police Station in Central Melbourne. Oh, golly, someone handed in my wallet…with all the cards intact. It was handed in on the 6th (Tuesday) and today is Thursday. D’ya think they could’ve rung me before I cancelled all the other ones?? D’ya think they could’ve been bothered to get their arses into gear to actually TELL people that their wallets had been found?? Maybe BEFORE they have to cancel all their details??? Noooooo. Not a fucking chance. Why bother two days after? If they were able to reckon my address from the information in the wallet, they could’ve figured the phone number too…or is that too much to ask? Frigging stupid coppers…(but thanks, maybe, for at least informing me that my wallet has been handed in) Now I have to wait for a new Bank-card, and a new Elec/Gas card, and a new State Library Card, and a new Rent Card, and a new Tax File No, and a new Medicare Card and a new Health Care Card…because I cancelled all the other ones because the coppers couldn’t be fagged phoning me to tell me that they’d found my freaking wallet. Frig it. ;j ---

I am having one of those days, too . . . All my train tkts ($108) and ID cards are missing—I HOPE they just flung themselves out of my pocketbook somehow and are on the floor at home . . . I can’t leave the bldg. for lunch because I got into a huge fight with the asshat security guards downstairs who refused to let me in this morning despite the fact that I have worked here for four fucking years—I kept telling them I am _not_ a disgruntled ex-employee, I am a disgruntled _current_ employee! I should have just turned right around and gone home, if I had any sense at all . . . ---
