I followed the advice I received in this thread

> **[Best software for digitizing CDs?](https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=514821)**

> I’ve got 1500 or so CDs I want to digitize. What’s the best software to use? Is 192 bits going to give me CD-quality sound or do I have to go higher? Also, will a 1 TB hard drive hold all of it? How do I find out? Lastly, last time I sniffed around...

and started digitizing my cds with Exact Audio Copy. I decided to create a folder on the hard drive for each cd. Problem is that Windows is alphabetizing the songs instead of retaining the original order of the songs. Can I fix that? Is there a better way to archive the cds?

What is AccurateRip? Should I use it? I have said no so far.

And what interface should I use to play them back? I downloaded Songbird, for example, but as usual I’m not sure how to use it most effectively. Is there another program you all use? Thanks as always.

Another request: if someone could tell me the settings I should choose in EAC for maximum results, I would be most grateful.

You’ll find the answers to all your questions here:
[hydrogenaudio.org: FAQ](http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=7516)

To make it a bit simpler, here is one of the recommended guides when you use EAC:
[The essential ripping guide](http://users.fulladsl.be/spb2267/index.htm)

And here is the [AccurateRip](http://www.accuraterip.com/) Webpage.
