Some good thoughts, please

I saw a chiropractor for a while. I could jump up and down and dance afterwards, but the trip back to work in the car made me hurt again.
What is SI?

Days of pain like that just grind you down.

Very sorry to see what you are going through.

I won’t offer any unrealistic hopes as you will know more than any of us the various possiblities.

Just to say that I’m thinking of you.

Actually, that should be do-able with today’s technology…

Here’s hoping that your original equipment starts acting like it wants to stay on the Zette team!

(I’d hug you except I don’t want to hurt your back.)

Have tried yoga? Some good stretching positions could be just the ticket.

Good luck to you. Pain, any kind of serious pain, is uniquely awful, especially when you can’t do anything about it. However, you sound like you are so far handling it extraordinarily well, and my thoughts are with you.

Someone asked what the “SI” joint or area is. Here’s a link to a med site with some info:

Basically, it’s my ass. Plus my tailbone, etc etc.

Thanks for all the kind words you guys. I’m trying to keep up a good mood. I really appreciate it!

My dad broke his back 2x and this has helped him also.

Just a thought: have you tried alternative therapies? I mean like acupuncture or biofeedback or such stuff? I don’t know if your insurance would cover it but it might be worth a try! Also, yoga would be great however (very important), find a teacher/practitioner that understands the level of your back injury history - you could REALLY screw yourself up by doing yoga wrong. However, I do agree that it might be an excellent therapy for you.

{{{{{{Zette}}}}}} - Good thoughts coming your way!

The SI, or sacroiliac joint, is the joint which basically connects your pelvic bone to your spine. It connects, I believe, with tendons, ligaments and lots of muscles supporting the whole thing.

When I was injured, I did massage therapy for a 6 month period, and it REALLY helped. I also did a short stint of acupuncture, but did not notice any positive changes.

Zette I wish you the best. Keep your chin up. It’s hard to take when you know you are doing everything physically possible to make it better. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

While I have no personal experience with chronic back pain, my best friend does, so I kinda know how you feel, and I know it sucks. My friend has been off work for several weeks at a time sometimes, due to her back. Can’t walk, can’t sit, can’t do a damn thing but lay there for a while, until she can hobble to the car for an agonizing drive to the chiropractor. She also does yoga, and says that if done properly, it really can help.

Best of luck to you!

Zette, how horrible!

Aw, Zette! Sorry you have these troubles.

Now if only you would curl your hair and put on a little makeup:wink:
