How do you know it was the bag? I’m just wondering, 'cos it doesn’t make sense. Maybe you did something else to piss him off, and he was just calling you a fag as a general insult? ---

Come to think of it, my 15-year-old nephew also carries a bag like mine and he does call it a purse. In his case, it’s a form of civil disobedience. The school he goes to lumped all backpacks into their zero-tolerance policy, but they allow the girls to carry purses. ---

I wear a fanny pack every day and I have been asked why I wear a “fag bag”, I just laugh it off. I love my fanny pack, it carries: Wallet, Dell X5, I.D., spare truck key, checkbook, Beretta 96 Brigadier and a spare magazine. I decided on the fanny pack and I have found that I prefer it, it sits in an easily protected area, since it rides low the weight does not bother me at all (I am used to it) and if the excrement impacts the oscillating rotator it allows amazingly fast access. unclviny (who has been a “purse guy” for years) ---

I ordered the biggest Timbuk2 messenger bag I could get from their website. I came this close (holds thumb and finger together) to ordering it in black and pink. It looked really sweet. And it looked really sweet. I ended up with black and purple, which looks really cool. My friend JV calls it my man-purse. Having a bag rocks! It means not looking like a Pointdexter carrying everything you own in your pockets. And that’s worse than looking effeminate. ---
