After reading what some of you have written me about the recent disagreement between myself and **Twickster** , I have reached the following conclusion: Neither of us was in the right. **I** wasn’t because I obviously overreacted and **she** wasn’t because I feel like she led the lamb to slaughter by first writing me a private message asking “what about it?” and then following up with a “don’t do this again”, post. That’s the best I can do about this whole situation. I have told y’all many times I consider you family, but I have to stand up for myself, even though I’m demented. Bill Craig ---

I’m sure you were. 😉 But an “announcement”? Nah. That’s giving what I wrote a whole lot more credit than is deserved, **John**.🙂 Doesn’t matter, though: this was the only way I could find to resolve this matter, and if the concensus demands it isn’t good enough, then that’s fine with me. It’s easy to misunderstand the tone of written communication, especially very short messages like the ones you received from Twix. I know no offense was intended; but it’s not your fault that you read them as more hostile than they were meant to be. I’m glad you’re willing to but it behind you both and move on. **D’s** doing much better, thank you for asking (and for surreptitiously hijacking the thread, **ITD** :)) **Skammie** and **ITD** , you are among many of my friends here who know how much I value the site, and I would not want to give it up for anything in the world. This is just the best way I know to settle this thing. I hope it’s okay, but if not, then not. But whatever we all decide, I hope no one thinks I/we have forgotten what y’all did for us a few years ago, and I will take that gratitude to my grave (and further, if I can). Even now, I’m thinking of how me asking for help has (hopefully) made me a better person. And no, I’m not writing about this on the blog, although I do appreciate very much y’all reading it. What happens on The Dope, stays on The Dope, okay? For what it’s worth, I am sorry for circumventing the rules. Sometimes I have way, way ups and this was another time my emotions got away from me. **Twickster’s** already slapped me with a warning once, and I should have remembered that, but I didn’t. But again: I was in the wrong, and I hope we can settle this with “no one was right, here”. Let’s not tear the baby apart because of this, okay? Okay, **Twicks**? Bill ---

**Quasi** , please accept a (very fraternal) hug from me. Yeah, it’s real easy to misread tone in an email or note, we’ve all done it. (And you recall Gandalf’s comments on “good morning” to Bilbo.) I once got lambasted because I said “Thank you” to someone, and they took it as sarcastic. Sigh. Anyhow. Yeah, these things are small … and that’s good. ---

He didn’t ask for me to come in and say “all is well” – if you look at the OP, you’ll see that he asked me to say that neither of us was right. That would entail my saying that I was wrong to close a thread that was against our rules, despite the fact that I neither deleted the link he created nor gave him a warning when I closed that thread. I am not willing to say that my actions were wrong, so I thought it was better not to post and let the matter die. This apparently is not going to suffice. I will say that I’m sorry that **Quasi** was upset and continues to be upset by a minor moderator action; and I’m sorry that he feels I bear a personal animus against him. ---
