Torture is wrong in real life, but I don’t have a problem with it on the show. We just finished season four on DVD (only watch the show on DVD, not television.) I love 24. Love it. But I have to laugh at the show nonetheless. In season four (spoilers ahead), when Marianne was found to be a mole, I looked over at my husband and said, “Don’t they ever do background checks on their employees? Sheesh, it’s called the FBI. Use them!” My husband’s version of 24: Someone at CTU: Jack, you have less than 5 minutes to break this guy or the bomb will blow. Jack (with KS’s serious frown on): They don’t call me three-minute man for nothing. ---

I got particulary annoyed when Marwan kept slipping through all the CTU perimeters. ---

Oh joy, I get to be the wet sponge here. I have to wonder what impact this show has on peoples perception of the real WOT. Sadly, I think a lot of people actually believe it’s similar. Fuck protocols, torture, etc, etc. Donno if there’s a term, maybe the 24ization of the WOT? Not saying cancel the show, or think of the children mind you. Just offering it for thought. ---
