My SDMB looked very weird starting yesterday. Ads plastered all over the board. I finally figured out my subscription had expired. Theres no indication in my User CP that I ever had a subscription, when it started or ended. It’s all just wiped out like it never existed. There is an option to sign up again under paid subscriptions. I would have renewed before this happened if there had been some kind of automated reminder. ☹ A PM or even a pop up warning when I visited. I’d guess several thousand more subscriptions all ended this week. I signed up 2 years ago when the Halloween and Marketplace forums were added. I think a lot of people signed up the end of Sept 2011 or early Oct 2011. It was a smart subscription drive. ---

Things like spam filters can get in the way, but yes, I was going to say I was pretty sure you are supposed to get an email when your subscription is running out. You can also renew at any time, not just when it’s about to expire. ---

I’ll have to check that email account. It’s been a couple months since I signed into hotmail. Theres so much spam that I just got fed up with even logging into it. Hopefully I can just sign back up for a SDMB subscription? Nothing lost? ---

Same thing happened to me. I checked my email was valid and I went searching through my spam file and no email notification. Mildly annoying but easily fixed. ---

My email account for SDMB is a Yahoo account that I rarely log into anymore, so I missed the notification and had to resubscribe. For me, I lost my “Charter Member” status and the half-off subscription rate. :mad: ---

Wait, neither you nor **aceplace57** bothered to check the email address associated with your board membership. As a result you both missed the email messages reminding you that your account was expiring. Plus you missed the _multiple_ announcements about the charter membership expiry on the board itself. (And also there’s the fact that you don’t need to wait for the reminder; you can renew whenever you want, even over a year in advance.) So what are you and **aceplace57** complaining about? ---

**Shoeless** , you may be able to get your Charter Member status back, depending on the circumstances, if you contact TubaDiva or one of the other admins. I’ve always wondered why members wait for the e-mail reminder to re-up. And sure, I know people can get busy and just forget when they expire. But you can do so anytime. Myself I’m paid up until 2015, but I’ll bet if I went in right now and coughed up another year’s worth, it would show me I’m bumped up into 2016. ---

Because I know I can never ever have my charter membership back I haven’t re-upped. It’s really kind of a shame,I liked my membership. ☹ if we are ever given amnesty I would return,but I’m pretty sure it just sucks to be me. ---
