And let me mention that you can extend your subscription AT ANY TIME. You do not have to wait for a notice. Any additional subscription purchased simply adds time to what is existing, you lose nothing by resubscribing early. ---

Yeah, back when I paid for a membership, I did it so that I was a year ahead all the time. That way, if I missed paying by a week or a month even, I didn’t have a lapse in subscription. ---

Sometimes they sort of do. I saw a news item years ago about a convenience-store clerk in Texas who figured there had to be a big winner among all the scratch-offs he was selling. So he went through them all, figuring he’d just buy them with his big winnings, but there wasn’t one. So he called the police and reported being robbed, the bandit demanding only the scratch-offs. Mr Einstein there still got caught. ---
