I want to thank those who have contributed advice regarding Christmas at my house while moving in for making me smile, and for the **bear** , well you cracked me up! If I put up Halloween decorations there would be an immediate spiritual intervention! I love my folks, but they and some long time family friends are very strict fundamentalists, and I try to not rile them up. Well, unless I am bored and looking to burn my fingers on some firecrackers, which isn’t my moving mood. I become rather high strung when I move, so it’s best to just try and go with the flow. Honestly, I can do Christmas, the cooking is dead easy for me, but I have this overwhelming _need_ to have my house and yard look like Martha Stewart’s, and I always feel disappointed when that doesn’t happen. I probably need a Martha intervention! 22°F and snow on the ground. I need to get serious and make a Master List for what I need to get done in order to get out of here. I need to make airline reservations for people, dogs and cats, I need to, actually, take a day and order Christmas gifts before much more time passes. I lost all of my contact information, including personal email addys and real ones. I made it to Lima yesterday. Very late thanks to snow in Denver which caused a bunch of delays. It is cold and rainy today. I am become a soft Cali girl apparently as I am freezing my ass off at 44 deg F. I spent 5 winters in Wyoming where 32 degs was T-shirt weather! Man did I get soft. 😃 Presentation is at 5.30 then interviews tomorrow. Fly home Thursday when I am home until Dec 5th - then it is end of year meeting then big interview session in Tulsa the following week then on Dec 16th fly home for Christmas. Manager’s boss just came by to talk to us about a process that has been failing and that he’s been trying to rerun. And said that in the future we should be rerunning it on Sunday. Without really thinking I pretty much said no. I did word it a little less aggressively than that, but f\*\*\* that. This job was not supposed to have weekend responsibilities when I took it and only occasional long days. It has morphed into something with at least one weekend/month on call and lots of evenings of having to log back on from home. If they want more of my time, they can look for someone else. Or they can start seeing me come in late like some of my coworker do. ARGH! [/vent] ---

I’m so glad I spent all this time and money on a degree that qualifies me for nothing. I think I need to become good friends with the remainder of that bottle of wine in the fridge. I sewed up 5 puppy toys. Cozmo loves his stuffed toys, and he tends to tear them up. So while he was at his last class, I repaired a hedgehog, a monkey, a wiener dog, a giant jack, and a giant eyeball. We’ll see how long they last. Speaking of dogs, I’m afraid we’ll be putting Bernie down very soon. She walks into walls and furniture, she has trouble finding her food dish, she pees indoors, and when she’s outside, she’s completely confused. She even has a hard time taking the 2 steps from the kitchen to the garage. Her quality of life is gone. And more frequently, she gets these horrible wheezing fits. We can’t put it off much longer. She’s been with us a little over 14 years, and up until the last few months, she still had her puppy-like moments. But now, she just exists… Stoopit dogs - winding themselves around your heart… ---

When it’s closed, it’s a vertical cylinder: open it, lifting half of the cylinder around its hinge to variable positions and it lights up. The actual name brand is Daylight, both for the lamp and for the bulbs. Can’t try to look for it, I’m at work and never remember to come back to this stuff when I get home. **Wiki** , I second **coyote** ’s suggestion of a capuccino (what? Coffee-and-cocoa is what the Italians call a capuccino, the making it frothy thing is a starbucks invention) ---

Thanks everyone for the support while I am going through this move. My long time friends know much of the story, but some of you newer to the MMP probably don’t. The condensed version is that I just went through a year of hell which culminated with a divorce to a man who fricken lives next door to me. The impact has been rough on the kids (28, 26, 19 and 17). Now I am moving my two younger kids, 7 pomeranians, a miniature pinscher and two cats, our “things” that can’t be simply replaced and myself back home. Home is in the Seattle area, I am on Kodiak Island. It’s a daunting move. **bear** I had actually written a post last week which was witty and chatty and just before I posted it, I brushed my hand against the touchpad in a manner that caused my post to disappear. The point being was that I was pleading for some motivation, I need to be answerable to some one(s) instead of playing FV and hoping that the packing faery will show up and handle everything! I was taunting you specifically because I know that you use a bear voice, and I mean that in the Kodiak bear kinda way! 😛 As a bear in the Kodiak bear sense, I feel a special kinship with you. Any guy who fries burly butcher bacon all nekkid is a guy I can respect, lol! Anyway, I did get my daughter pinned down long enough to buy her bedding online, no easy task. Oh, and I had some \*\* N.O.H.\*\* coffee with hot cocoa and some Captain’s, which means this is an unintended obligatory drunken post. Thanks for the suggestions, and for reading my long, wandering posts. I feel the need for MMPers right now, it’s so good to know that y’all are here. Going to watch The Daily Show and the Colbert Report, and then I am going to bed. TTFN! ---
