Why would I care if an anonymous sender’s family member is making porn?
There was the joke about porn picked up by mistake at a Fotomat in ‘Parenthood’ (1989). I’m guessing that selfie porn goes back to the first Polaroid cameras if not earlier.
(Who’d have thought that a nude Polaroid would be ‘safer’ than a nude camera phone pic?)
The nude selfie thing is an epidemic and it always seems to involve girls of the same age. Is there some Sorority that demands nude shots of their pledges for ‘loyalty’? Is there some Fraternity that demands the ‘brothers’ get nude shots of their GFs to ensure ‘loyalty’?
I’m asking because its difficult to to go to the front page of reddit and not see 2-3 such postings.
Thousands upon thousands of young women of the same age, all joyfully volunteering to totally and completely humiliate themselves publicly on the internet seems… improbable.
I’m guessing you might not know too many teenage girls. Or their cellphones.
I’d delete the photo immediately. As for what I’d do next, I marked “other” because I wouldn’t tell the subject right away, but I wouldn’t deny receiving the picture if asked.
I would save it.
And then option 5, share it with friends and family, right after the next Thanksgiving dinner. That time between the meal and everyone drifting apart into smaller groups who watch the Game or discuss politics.
Play it on the computer in the main living room and then leave to have a beer in the garage.
Because taking pictures or film of some things is seriously stupid. Really stupid in this age of forever internet. Really, really.
I have a former friend who was going through some medical issues and the doctors told his daughter to check the house and remove any alcohol, guns, etc. She found a picture of him getting a blow job from someone she didn’t like. In the far background, two rooms away, there was a small child playing.
Eight years mandatory prison sentence. Stupid. He knows he did it to himself, kept pictures that he shouldn’t have. At least he is probably sober now.
Keeping pictures of sexual acts when you are not a paid professional is like taking pictures of a murder and keeping them. Pictures are only safe until found and you are not going to be in control of when that is. Internet pictures exist, maybe not forever but for a long time. A playful night in college will cost her that assistant DA job she was perfect for. Just life saving, perfect for. What she worked for most of her adult life. Only to be lost because of some stupid picture her former boyfriend posted some where.
Any family member of mine who doesn’t understand this needs a major life lesson.
Never take pictures. Lie if you are caught. Trust no one. Those should be Miranda rights warnings too.
Wait. Eight years for having oral sex two rooms away from a kid? What?
Display of child. Something like that.
It was in Oregon and he was sentenced under Measure 11. Oregon has an initiative process where a group of citizens can bypass the legislature by gathering enough signatures to place a proposed new law on the ballot directly.
Measure 11 was a tough-on-crime ballot proposal that was passed in 1994. It set mandatory minimum sentences for certain crimes. If convicted under a measure 11 offence the judge has no discretion for giving a more lenient sentence, no extenuating circumstances, no time off for good behavior, BAMM!, mandatory minimum. It was a response to perceived outrages by supposedly too lenient judges.
The minimum for 1st degree murder is 25 years for example. No less. No community service, no probation.
I think because the picture in question was deemed using a child in a sexual display, or something like that. Mandatory minimum, no judicial discretion.
There may have been multiple counts, I don’t recall.
Backtrace the IP and find out who “anonymous” is. They dun goofed.
You duck the important issue–just how good-looking is this family member?
