The [BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-46036058) are stopping short of saying it was murder, saying that he was found dead and that it is being investigated as a homicide. ---

I just read on another website that three inmates who had Mafia ties beat him to death with a “lock in a sock” - a padlock in a sweat sock. ---

Sorry, I can’t get behind bludgeoning a 89 year old man in a wheelchair to death. They tried to gouge his eyes out. That’s just flat out disgusting and sick. The old man couldn’t even defend himself. Doesn’t matter what Whitey did or who he killed during his mob days. He was sentenced and sent to prison. He wasn’t given a death sentence. The prison had a responsibility to ensure his safety. I’m very suspicious of this prison “transfer” right into the waiting fists of some mob guys. That’s not a coincidence imho. ---

In Goodfellas Henry Hill says the mob could have killed him in prison just as easily as on the outside. Gouging eyes is another example of a mafia type hit , they also shoot people in the eye, like Moe Greene in the Godfather. Could be the mob bribed someone to send him to that prison. ---
