Easy for you to say now. Where were you when we were voting on this before they beat him to death?
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
It’s not unusual to have prisoners that committed crimes that puts them in danger of retribution. There’s procedures to keep them safe in prison.
Whitey was attacked by a known mob hitman within hours of arriving. I hope that’s investigated. Find out if anyone working in the prison system manipulated his execution.
I’m well aware Whitey was a horrible person and very dangerous in his Younger days. Not much different from the guy that executed him.
What are you suggesting? That there might be corruption in the prison system? That’s completely unheard of.
Money talks. I bet somebody paid out a lot to kill this guy.
Whooosh
This is just silly. Absolutely NO ONE is safe in prison.
I suspect Bulger still had some info on people, might have felt like spilling the beans.
I also heap praise upon your link. Quite an entertaining story.
Also, God has spoken and it looks like Bulger is going to Hell for snitching:
Quality! Nice work.
Agree!
This one:
Could you, would you with a shiv?
Would you make him cease to live?
They could not shank him on the Rock
But would you beat him with this lock?
was also really good.
Gee, who would have guessed that transferring a guy who informed on the mafia to be housed with a mafia hitman would result in the informant’s death?
Jesus Christ! What kind of fucking socks are they giving these prisoners?
Mine get holes in them from walking around for about 10 minutes in Comfort-Gel Soles. What the hell kind of socks can hold a Master Lock for a beat-down so comprehensive the vic can hardly be identified?
Hanes? Fruit Of The Loom?
I want these socks.
the reputed hitman was already in for life so he did not lose anything by whacking another guy. His family probably gets some cash from the mob for the hit. Also the hitman had a chance to turn state’s evidence for a lesser sentence and he turned down that offer so he’s pretty hardcore mob.
Given how spectacularly the government failed in its duty to safely incarcerate Bulger, it’s hard not wonder if there was an intentional plan to get Bulger murdered.
“I thought I was moping in the warehouse - maybe I was slocking in the greenhouse”

It seems to stretch credulity to think that prison officials were not somehow complicit in this. I’m no conspiracy theorist, but there had to have been a bit of “look the other way” going on here. Not that I’m sorry this guy met his demise in this way, but I do prefer to at least publicly be against extrajudicial killings.
Locks but no bagels? It’s criminal how the Italians and Irish do brunch, criminal I tell ya.
INJ (I’m not Jewish), is Locks & Tongue any better?

Bulger was murdered by another prisoner. Why assume prison officials were involved?
It’s very difficult to isolate prisoners from contact with other prisoners. Because doing so triggers protests that prison officials are engaging in cruel and unusual punishment by putting prisoners in solitary confinement.
It’s the usual complaints. We’re told that we’re somehow responsible for the crimes committed by prisoners (all of whom had criminal histories before entering prison). But when we try to control what prisoners do, we’re told (often by the same people) that we’re oppressing the prisoners and we should let them be more free.

Jailhouse tip: Don’t use a lock. They’re relatively light, they’re valuable, and they’re easy to trace if you have to drop the weapon. Throw a can of beans in a sock instead.

Honestly? I don’t give a shit Dead guy’s dead. Fuck him.
Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy.
Rest in pieces, you fucking slimeball.
