Tres Cool! Since you’re near there, maybe you could do a schtick where you invent some colorful local legend about a lost mine, moonshine still, or whatever or something and portray the miner / 'shiner in period regalia and overblown accent to get paid by folks selfying with you. Or something. If tourists are coming, it’s a long standing American tradition to figure out some way to fleece them. That host feller didn’t grow up too far from SC from the sound of things. I like that it takes him 4 minutes to tour the whole town. On foot.
