# Something a little weird about eBay ?

Am I the only one who thinks it is weird that when the logo for the online auction site is always shown, it appears to be all [all lower case letters](http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/5a/EBay_Logo.svg/800px-EBay_Logo.svg.png). Yet frequently if not always when the site is written about, the company is identified as [eBay](http://tech.msn.com/products/articlepcw.aspx?cp-documentid=5586501&page=2) ? ( Item # 13 )

What’s up with that? Is it eBay or ebay??

It’s eBay. The logo might say ebaY, but if you go to the website, it always refers to itself as eBay. For instance:

And the logo of this web site says THE STRAIGHT DOPE, even though it’s always written as The Straight Dope.
