There was a period of time when my ex-husband was having frequent nosebleeds. During one humdinger which didn’t respond to pressure or ice or any of the usual first aid tricks, I took some powdered yarrow flower (a coagulant) and wrapped it in a handkerchief and told him to stick it up his nose. That did the trick. 10 minutes later when I figured it had probably clotted, I told him to gently pull the handkerchief out. He did. A 5 inch clot of blood looking much like a well fed slug slithered out and hit the floor. Good times. ---

As reported, yep happens to nose bleeders. I got hit in the face with a baseball bat in the fourth grade, and had nose problems for 40 years, until I finally went in for a fix. Gross but somehow weirdly satisfying when you can pluck one out. ---

I once had black snot from going to my first Ren Faire because of the dust. I’m also constantly surprised at how the smallest, flattest boogers can still clog my breathing. ---

This thread, like all the disgusting SDMB “things that come out of my body” threads, is thoroughly disgusting but yet I can’t look away. Sort of like a train wreck. Sadly, I have nothing to contribute, but I will be reading. 😃 ---
