I think you folks are overreacting and ignoring one possibility.

Connor, it’s likely that you have the cure for cancer in that tupperware.

i think every cancer patient in the world is going to be ticked if you just Palmolive the sucker…

Tomato based, you say? I’m sorry, but I am now of the understanding that its leftover spaghetti sauce. With italian sausage. I called my roommate, and he gave me a full description. I will spare what details have not been already covered.

Connor,

How soon do you need that Tupperware container? Whenever I have to “rescue” one of my storage containers in stick it in the freezer. Once the mystery substance is a solid block, it is easy enough to remove it from your container without subjecting your nose to any evil odors.

If the frozen substance doesn’t want to be budged from the plastic you can quickly dip the container in very hot water to melt just the outside layer of the substance so it slips out. (OK so I read those stupid household hints in woman’s magazines, so sue me.)

You can then proceed to soaking the container in bleach water using the methods other posters have submitted.
