# Something strange??

I decided to change my email address to my more current one.
I could not get back into my user cp.
I followed the link in my email and now I can get into the threads and user cp.
The question I have is, did I screw up somehow? It showed me two different names.
Qwakkeddup and qwakkeddup. I just want to make sure I don’t have two usernames which I understand is taboo here. I will also send a notice off to TubaDiva and hope this is just some quirk and not important.

Just see the one name. Not at all sure what you were looking at or how you got there or anything but that’s all we see here.

All seems well at this end, new email addy is up and I can sign in, ect. Odd happenings seems to be a way of life for me.

In case you’re not aware (I wasn’t until I did the same thing myself recently), when you change your registered e-mail address, you will be locked out of the boards until you access the confirmation e-mail sent to the new address, and click on the link within it. That part of what you describe is standard, as **Dex** notes in post #4 of [this FAQ](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=384827), which is a ATMB sticky thread.
Why your username was capitalised in one instance and not in another, I have no idea, but if **Tuba** says you’re good to go, I guess it was just a slip-up by the software.
