Sometimes data mining gets things completely wrong

I used to be on an email list for petrochemical engineers. I even started a thread about it:

My email address seems to have gotten on a list of purported Spanish-speaking mining or petrochemical engineers. Or something like that, considering all Spanish language spam I get with technical terms in the subject lines. I thought once one is on an email list, you never get off, but those emails stopped coming. And I have not changed my email address.
