There’s a new commercial from United Airlines that is cartoon animated and there is this beautiful, classical type song being played.
Anyone know what that song is called?

If it’s the one I’m thinking of, (it’s the same music that United has been using as their theme for the last 10 years or so), that would be George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.”

Just listened to a midi file of “Rhapsody in Blue” and that’s not the song.
Any other ideas?

It is “Rhapsody in Blue.” It’s a very complex and long piece, with several movements. It’s likely that the MIDI you listened to wasn’t the same part as the commercial is using. But trust me - I know all three of the animated United commercials, and they all use Rhapsody in Blue.

I think the commercial he’s referring to is the one appearing on CNN about 7AM or so eastern time. It’s an oddball arrangement, I think.
Definitely Rhapsody in Blue, though. One of the all time great melodies.
