Song References Like Jagger, Ooh ooh ooh like Jagger

And to add:
David Bowie: “Song for Bob Dylan”, which also uses Robert Zimmerman to refer to Dylan.
Wally Pleasant: “Song for Bob Dylan” (different song)
Belle and Sebastian: “Like Dylan in the Movies”
The Minutemen: “Bob Dylan Wrote Propaganda Songs”

I’m surprised that there haven’t been many mentions of politicians. I’m willing to bet that Bush shows up in a number of songs. I once thought of putting a mix tape together of songs that mentioned Giuliani as well. I don’t recall for sure, but I think I found enough in my collection to fill a tape.

And Don’t Sniff Coke - Pato Banton. He also references Ronald Reagan in the same verse, ~ 3:27.

Clint Eastwood is mentioned in “Los Rancheros” by Adam and the Ants and by Big Audio Dynamite in their song “Bad.”

Good point. I’ll retract that part. Use of the person’s commonly identified name is fine. Bonus points for first and last name. Vague nicknames like “Jester” or “The King” still score a zero.

Reagan died in 2004.

As far as references to dead people, I would think Jesus Christ (of Nazareth) is referenced by name in more songs than Elvis.

Does “Sit on my face Stevie Nix” by The Rotters count? I hope so!

Add Dan Hicks “By Hook Or By Crook”
“…like Cassius with his KO…”
.

Correct. (but I prefer “Sir Mick”)

.

The first one I thought of was “The Seeker” by The Who:
“I asked Bobby Dylan. I asked the Beatles. I asked Timothy Leary, but he couldn’t help me either.”

Maybe not exactly the “correct” first name, but close enough I think.

Sure, but how many of them are still alive? (Some were dead already when the song was written.)

Okay, this isn’t really appropriate to the thread, but it is to the title: Am I the only one who grew up thinking he was made at McDonalds–that his name was McJagger?
