A-propos the Guantanamera-tuned chant ‘There’s only one Dah-Dah Da-da’…(any player with two syllables in first and last name).

After a well-known Scottish International Goalkeeper, Andy Goram, admitted he had a very mild form of schizophrenia, opposition fans immediately started chanting ‘Two Andy Gorams, there’s only two Andy Gorams’.

This song took on a huge amount of meaning after the Hillsborough disaster in 1985, where 96 people died and 766 people were injured. I have never have a dry eye when I hear this song by a soccer crowd. It is sung in honour of those people.

In Australia all football (AFL) clubs have a song that is sung when your team wins.

1. Heysel and Bradford were in 1985.

Roughly a decade or so ago, Newcastle United had a defender called Habib Beye:
“Monday, Tuesday, Habib Beye. Wednesday, Thursday, Habib Beye…”

I’d forgotten about that one, genius.

Don’t know if it has already been linked to but [here](https://www.openplay.co.uk/blog/top-30-funniest-british-football-chants) are some corkers.

While waiting to be taken off a sinking RN ship during the Falklands war, I understand the crew sang “Always Look At The Bright Side Of Life”.

> If life seems jolly rotten There’s something you’ve forgotten
> And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing
> When you’re feeling in the dumps don’t be silly chumps
