Songs about air travel and airplane culture?

I think of United Airlines when I hear Rhapsody in Blue.

Sondheim’s hysterical What Do We Do? We Fly! from “Do I Hear a Waltz?”

Seatbacks and Tray Tables – Fountains of Wayne
The Airport Giveth, The Airport Giveth Away – Rick Derringer

Good one!

“From the Air” - Laurie Anderson

Has** this one** been mentioned?

A few years ago, a co-worker was on hold with them, and *Rhapsody *is playing. There was a break in the music, and I quickly said “Thank you for calling Gershwin Airlines. How may I help you?” He started saying how he needed help with a reservation and probably would have continued if the music didn’t resume.

I’ve been racking my brains about a song that was popular about 15 years ago. The video featured the singer walking through a field, singing about his love, and ultimately, it’s about a flight that crashed.

While trying to find that song, I ran into a short list of songs about plane crashes.

Ah, finally, I find what I was after: Brian McKnight’s Back at One. Video here. The song itself isn’t about flying, but the video is.

The Foo Fighters’ “Wheels” - When the wheels come down / When the wheels touch ground …

As opposed to Slade’s “Wheels Ain’t Coming Down”

Aww, they left off 30KFT by Assemblage 23.
