I tried to keep my OP positive, but if y’all want to post songs about bad stuff (of which there are a few posts already) that’s good too. It’s all cathartic to me 🙂 ---

Here’s a nice mellow one for you, [“Seymour Stein” by Belle & Sebastian](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T-VDecCB-Hw&ab_channel=Belle%26Sebastian-Topic). It’s about record company big shot Seymour Stein flying to Scotland to meet the band to see if he wanted to sign them. “It’s a good day for flying.” I swear I read somewhere that the band thought the name “Seymour Stein” sounded a lot like “see more skies” so that’s why they decided to go with a flying motif for the song, but that was ages ago. I like to think that the closing lines are “See more skies” repeated not “Seymour Stein.” Make of it what you will. ---

British Heavy Rock band **Saxon** did **747** (Strangers in the Night) and **Mike** “ **Tubular** **Bells** ” **Oldfield** did **5** **Miles** **Out** but both are about civilian aircraft in danger. **Motörhead** did **Bomber** and **Iron** **Maiden** did **Aces** **High** which both celebrate WW2 aerial combat. Not the best song for someone who is nervous about flying. About an hour ago I listened to Ironic by Ananis Morrisette. A man was afraid to fly. He waited his whole life to take a flight. “and as the plane crashed down he thought, ‘well, isn’t this nice’”. ---
