OK, after reading the Mae West thread, I began to ponder references to self-abuse in popular music. The list so far… “She Bop” by loveable ragamuffin Cyndi Lauper; “Dancing With Myself” by Billy Idiot, err Idol; “Turning Japanese” by the Vapors (wow! can’t believe I remembered the group name); “I Touch Myself” the Divinyls; can the Teemers suggest more? ---

Well, the dope I had at the time from friends was the (somewhat racist) reference to one’s eyes being half-shut with pleasure, and doing it so often that there is a danger of the eyes staying that way… ---

Well, “Summertime” by Sublime contains a reference to masturbation, though it’s not actually ABOUT masturbation in the way that the other songs listed on this thread are. Ditto “Teenage Gluesniffer” by the Queers & “I Wanna Be a Homosexual” by Screeching Weasel. Yup, the Green Day song is called “Longview”. ---
