Songs for chemical warfare?

I can’t access that, but is it the same song as Thunderclap Newman’s “Something in the Air”? (If so, the Thunderclap Newman version is the original. If not, it is another song for your list.)

Also, “Coming in the Air Tonight”, Phil Collins; “The Gasman Cometh”, Flanders and Swann.

In what way is this song about (or contain a reference to) chemical warfare?

(Chemical) flare gun + some stupid + combustible Swiss material = Smoke on the Water?

Smoke. On the water.

“Every Breath You Take” - The Police.

“1916” - Motorhead.

:dubious:

PUH-leez.

For one thing, the song isn’t about warfare at all.

For another, by that logic every song mentioning guns is also about chemical warfare.

Oi Polloi- Victims of a Gas Attack

Subhumanz - Zyklon B-Movie

Oh yeah,

Sex Pistols - Belsen Was A Gas

There’s a Kind of Hush (All Over the World Tonight) by Herman’s Hermits.

I’m Mr. Blue by Bobby Vinton.

Purple Rain.

The first thing that came to mind was System of a Down - Toxicity, but that’s not really what they’re on about. Though, it *does *seem like the sort of song to listen to during a chemical weapon attack!

So both of my joke answers and my serious answer have been taken. But definitely listen to The Latin One. Natalie isn’t satisfied with her performance on their early records, but it is still a chilling song because of, not despite, her somewhat detached approach to the singing.

This one’s deceptively upbeat.

She Blinded Me…with Science!

Question mark, smart ass. I didn’t bring it up.

According to the OP,

(emphasis mine)
I think that Smoke On the Water definitely meets the second criteria.

Lighten up, Francis

You call me Francis? I’ll kill you.

And I didn’t get it.

Sarindipity, by Barenaked Ladies.

I mean… uh, nevermind.

“It’s a Gas”

Disco version MAD Magazine - It's a Gas (Disco Version) - YouTube

Whose Garden Was This?. Written by Tom Paxton, huge hit for John Denver.

Tell me again, I need to know.
The forest had trees.
The meadows were green.
The ocean was blue.
And birds really flew.
Can you swear that was true?
