She’d rather be a “Boy Dontcha Know” by Joan Osborne is a song about a trans person’s need to transition. It’s the only one that comes to my mind offhand. Osborne’s use of the wrong pronoun for a trans man is cringe, but at least the message is supportive. It’s a start. This thread is intended to keep the thread about bisexual and pansexual songs from being hijacked by a different topic. Just so we’re all on the same page of music, be aware that gender identity and sexual orientation vary independently of each other. Anyone of any gender can have any sexual orientation at all and vice versa. By the title of this thread, I meant to be clear that it’s about songs _for_ trans people and not against them. An explanation… This says songs “for” trans people, not specifically “about” trans people. And I know I’m giving the song a different meaning than it’s intended. But, I have related to this song since the 1980s. (and I’m not trans), A Man I’ll Never Be by Boston. Some lyrics. (Is this too much lyrics?)
