Every once in a while the chorus of a song will pop into my head and I’ll think how spectacular the song is, but then when I hear the whole song I realize that the chorus is the only _great_ part of the song. This might be the result of a writer coming up with a great chorus and then just half-assing some verses to go with it, or it might be that the chorus is so well conceived that there is no verse worthy to complement

What songs can you think of in which the chorus is rockin’ (I mean _really_ great) but puts the rest of the song to shame?

Guidelines for this thread:
[ul][li]Please keep text short and to-the-point[/li][li]Please don’t post every song you can think of, just the ones that really stand out[/ul][/li]I’ll start:

_Fortress Around Your Heart_ by Sting

\<entering the Twilight Zone\>

Actually, the first song that sprang to mind was exactly the opposite of the OP.

The theme from Friends has a really punchy verse with clever lyrics, but the chorus is lame pap in comparison.
