I just heard Iggy Pop’s “King of the Dogs” and it reminded me of the Stray Cat’s “Stray Cat Strut”.
So what other songs are sung exclusively from an animal’s 1st person point of view? I guess you could include Pink Floyd’s “Sheep”.
Any others?

Yes, really.
ETA: Actually, the song is a little sad, if creepy, as the chicken realizes that it’s probably actually going to end up as someone’s dinner. “From the chopping block, to a medal 'round my neck…from conveyor belts, to Van Allen.”

One of my favorite singer/songwriters just released her latest album in May with a track called “White Cat”. [Here’s the scoop and a bit of the lyrics from the website.](http://cherylwheeler.com/songs/iwawco.html)
This song is a fantasy about how Penrod viewed “his staff” who were there to serve him, the center of the universe. Anyone who has had pets, especially cats, can probably relate to this song.
Apparently, Penrod wasn’t your typical cat. Unlike most other cats, he groomed himself once or twice a year
\*I was a white cat once, but when I roll around I get all gray and brown
And it does not make sense to waste a busy day licking the dirt away
And I have staff for that, sent here to serve the cat
I let my fur get gray and then I dock their pay

On the first season of the Theme Time Radio Hour, Bob Dylan played a neat Bob Dorough reading of the poem “Dog” by Lawrence Ferlinghetti, set to a great Jazz soundtrack. I found a .rm file but it won’t play on my laptop. Ah well!
