Many years ago, I came upon a list of songs that begin with the word _and_. It was a very short list. The ones I remember: [ul][li]_Mrs. Robinson_ by Simon and Garfunkel: “ **And** here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson…”[/li][li]_Closer to the Heart_ by Rush: “ **And** the men who hold high places…”[/li][li]_Once in a Lifetime_ by The Talking Heads: “ **And** you may find yourself…”[/ul][/li]What others are there? ---

(Dang I’m getting old.) OK, this one I got, “Carry That Weight” leads right into “The End”, but I still screwed up. The real and true first line is “Oh yeah, all right, are you gonna be in my dreams tonight”. This is right before the drum solo. Or at least I’m sure they sing those words, and I always thought that’s where “The End” started. I can’t remember the last time I listened to “The End” without listening to pretty much the whole album side, so maybe those lyrics are technically part of the previous cut. [mild hijack] I realize this thread’s about songs that _begin_ with ‘And’, but it seemed silly to start a whole 'nother thread to mention what I’ve always thought of as **Best Use of a Conjunction in a Rock Song**. ::rips open envelope, out pops .wav file:: “and, and, and, put the load right on me.” The Band, “The Weight,” of course.
