I’m not sure about the name of the song, but there is an Elton John Bernie Taupin song that begins: And now it’s all over, The birds can rest again… I think it’s the last song on Madman Across the Water. I haven’t heard that in twenty years. ---

As I mentioned in another thread, Grover Washington Jr.'s version is, to me, the only one. And Firefly, you’re right: it should actually have been “An DIIIIIIeeeIIII…” The “and” is just a springboard for the “I”. I’m picturing waves of force pushing outwards from an epicenter, like the effect propaganda used to say the atomic bomb would have.
