Call me cynical, but I can just _see_ these guys sitting around coming up with this song:

“I think we should have a little boy in it…”

“Yeah, a _crippled_ little boy!”

“And his dad’s dead!”

“Okay… How about since his dad’s dead, his mom is struggling to make a living?”

“My god, we’ll have them crying in _buckets!_ Tee hee hee!”
