The proper title of “If You Get There Before I Do” - whatever, damn thing makes me bawl like an abandoned child.

My podunk little local radio station hired a DJ who played that, the one about the dead soldier in the glovebox of the Mustang, Dolly’s “Hard Candy Christmas”, the Maverick (Jody Foster, Mel Gibson & James Garner)version of “Amazing Grace,” and the ?Mettalica? version of “Whiskey in the Jar” in **heavy** rotation from 6 to noon.

Og help me, I was never so happy as when she got fired.

One that came up on my playlist recently was The Bee Gees’ [New York Mining Disaster 1941](http://www.absolutelyrics.com/lyrics/view/bee_gees/new_york_mining_disaster_1941/). I didn’t actually cry or anything (I’m too much of a manly man for that) but it was still pretty sad.

One that often gets to me is Ben Folds’ [Give Judy My Notice](http://www.musicsonglyrics.com/B/benfoldslyrics/benfoldsgivejudymynoticelyrics.htm), but only if it’s the piano-and-voice version on the _Speed Graphic_ EP. That silly poppy version on _Songs for Silverman_ is way too upbeat.
