I have noticed the covers of “Truck Driving Man” (an early example of the “trucker” country sub-genre, originally recorded in 1954) seem be be responding to inflation, with the line “I put a nickel in the jukebox/ and play that truck drivin’ man” progressing to a quarter during the 70’s and 80’s to now recent versions being up to a dollar. Of course there’s the whole metaphysical implications of the narrator somehow playing the song on the jukebox while he’s in the process of recording it, but that’s another topic… ---
