The poster child song for this thread: Emerson Lake & Palmer’s “Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends.” Essentially a concept album masquerading as one long tune, it’s the very definition of interminable. ---

It also had a lot of bits lifted from the show they did years earlier (with two other well-known guys) _Beyond the Fringe_, although I didn’t realize that until years later. Hugh Laurie has also demonstrated formidable piano composing and performance skills. ---
