Songs that seemingly never end

Damn. A typo. I hate typos. STOP LOOKING AT MY TYPO!!!

I throw in additional votes for “Hey Jude” and “I Want You (She’s So Heavy)”, and add a new contender: “Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In” by The Fifth Dimension.
Let the sunshine,
Let the sunshine in,
The sunshine in…

[repeat until the heat death of the universe]

A lot of people know him only for comedy. He attended Oxford on a music scholarship (Organ), was an accomplished jazz pianist, performed Rhapsody In Blue with orchestra. That’s as much as I know about him, but I’d bet there’s more.
.

Edit: yep, there’s a lot more. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6bnP3cNR0M

John Mayer. “Say what you need to say”

Just say it!! Fuck!

Those songs are about the instrumentals in them not the lyrics. If you don’t like them don’t listen to them…sheesh isn’t there enough to bitch about already?

Love that one. I’ve forced my brother to listen to it in retaliation for his forcing me to listen to Freebird over and over.

Julian Lennon’s “Too Late For Goodbyes” is too long for an ending.

This thread is about endless songs, not your personal issues. If you don’t like it, don’t read the thread…sheesh isn’t there enough to bitch about already?

The poster child song for this thread:

Emerson Lake & Palmer’s “Welcome Back My Friends To The Show That Never Ends.” Essentially a concept album masquerading as one long tune, it’s the very definition of interminable.

I keep on dancing and a-prancing ad naseum

Don’t know what finally clicked, but I’ve been following the whole thread thinking ‘Lola’, not ‘Layla’. :p:p:p

Well, it WAS a long, long time ago,
In a galaxy far away…

wait

Gods yes. I’d like this song so much more if it wasn’t so annoyingly…annoying. It needs to be about 2 minutes long, and call it good.

Nights in white satin…never reaching the end…

Long song but I like it. Though dense me thought for years knights in white satin were a bunch of KKK looking dude riding horses on some endless quest.

It’s that time of year:

Simply having a wonderful Christmastime
Simply having a wonderful Christmastime

Makes me wish the “Paul is dead” rumor was true.

Nobody’s mentioned the most obvious song-that-goes-on-forever: THE END by The Doors.

Ahem.

“Thank You” by Natalie Merchant belongs here.

I saw Moore along with Peter Cook perform on Broadway in a show they called Good Evening, which featured a lot of Dudley Moore playing the piano. It also had a lot of bits lifted from the show they did years earlier (with two other well-known guys) Beyond the Fringe, although I didn’t realize that until years later.

Hugh Laurie has also demonstrated formidable piano composing and performance skills.

I’m kind of surprised nobody’s mentioned Orbital’s “The Box”. (I know this song made me double-check my player’s “repeat” setting more than once in college.)
