Ha, that’s Audrey Hepburn. I wish I looked like her!

I know “Aura Lee” because it was one of the first pieces I learned on the piano. I thought more people knew about it.

> “My Country Tis Of Thee” … “God Save The Queen”

Also “God Blss Our Native Land”. And one other of the European countries has it as the tune to their national anthem, can’t remember which one.

The hymn “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken” is to the same tune as the German anthem “Deuchland Uber Alles”

That tune also appears in a Haydn string quartet. Apparently at the time Haydn quoted it, it was known as “Gott erhaltet Franz der Kaiser” (God Save Emperor Franz).

Bach’s Concerto for 4 harpsichords (BWV 1065) is a direct note-for-note lift of a Vivaldi concerto for Four Violins. (OP3, #10 - I think.)

The Rolling Stones “Has Anybody Seen My Baby” sounds so much like kd lang’s “Constant Craving” that Mick & Co. realized it and gave lang and her collaborator Ben Mink co-writing credits on the song before the album was released.

Every time this subject comes up, the pair that always comes to my mind is Rick James’ **Superfreak** and MC Hammer’s **U Can’t Touch This**. In fact, IIRC, Hammer very deliberately looked for an old disco/funk song to put his breakthrough hit to.

Given hip-hop’s reputation for this sort of thing, I suppose the only surprise is that there weren’t others.

I think that’s more along the lines of sampling, though. Otherwise, we’d be here all day wading through the 5,000 (my estimation) or so examples of hip-hop/R&B similarities with previous disco/funk songs.

Amend the above to include songs of any stripe, please. I’m recalling “sampling” examples that include pieces from America and Queen.

“It Sucks to be Me” from Avenue Q, and “For Now” also from Avenue Q. I suppose that doesn’t count.

“Daddy’s Getting Married” by Bif Naked sounds an awful lot like “Today” by the Smashing Pumpkins.

“Ready or Not” by the Fugees really pissed me off the first time I heard it because I thought it rocked that a Jukebox in a pool hall would have Enya’s “Boadicea.” (In this case, they ripped off the entire entire song, including vocals, added a drumline and their own vocals to it, and made (at the time) the planet’s most expensive music video out of it)

P.M. Dawn sampled (yeah, I know we aren’t into samples here, but it confuses me every time I hear them) Spandau Ballet’s “True” for “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss”, enough so that when I’m listening to one I anticipate lyrics from the other.

I’ve heard many argue that John William’s “Duel of the Fate’s” {From the Phantom Menace} is bloody close to Carl Orff’s “O Fortuna” {from Carmina Burana}

And there is something disturbingly familiar with Hans Zimmer’s score for the Rock…

They also took basically all the parts from The Delfonics’ “Ready or Not (Here I Come),” including the title of the song.

Looks like I wasn’t the only one that was surprised by this:
[Enya’s producer was gonn’ get medieval on the Fugees’ collective ass](http://www.enya.org/p_trans4/b019.htm)
