You mentioned LROM, but really, Quadrophenia is full of sound effects (including Pete smashing a whole room full of stuff at the very end). The first song that came to mind though was the car horn and “jungle sounds” from [Apeman](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlM52fUrNz4). ---

Kid Koala’s [“Carpal Tunnel Syndrome”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzqEQiui7tM) is adorable – it uses the sound of a clacking typewriter for the beat. Don’t forget the industrial bands like Einsturzende Neubauten who would use actual industrial machinery alongside regular instruments in their music. ---

Detroit Rock City by KISS (car engine revving, big crash at the end). Rather annoying actually. I prefer the version on Double Platinum without the effects. 409 (car engine revving) by The Beach Boys. Hell’s Bells (a bell, of course), For Those About To Rock (cannon fire), and The Jack (pub crowd booing) by AC/DC. Black Sabbath (rain, thunder, church bell), War Pigs (air raid siren), Sweet Leaf (coughing) by Black Sabbath. Metal Gods (robots marching, actually silverware being banged on a table) by Judas Priest. Fireball (some sort of machinery kicking on) by Deep Purple. ---
