I’ve recently found out that with the right homebrew tools and significantly more work than I should be putting into something like this, I can make a custom Guitar Hero 2 disc for my Xbox 360.

Unfortunately, my tastes have strayed quite far from “boring old guitar rock” over the past several years and I’m having trouble coming up with worthy songs to include. Evidently, you can fit a whole lot of tunes on one of those discs.

For the most part, I’m trying to steer clear of the classic rock staples that infest the retail games. I mean, I loved that stuff in high school, but there’s only so many times you can listen to those same couple thousand songs before you start getting extremely tired of them. Songs by those groups that haven’t been played into the ground are fair game, though.

A good example of the kind of thing that really catches my ear would be [“Your Hand in Mine” by Explosions in the Sky](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36U4ez7AzKA) (the _Friday Night Lights_ song).

Really, anything that sounds like it would be fun and/or challenging to play in Guitar Hero would be great, though.

Thanks!
