Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” The most over-the-top power ballad in history. I don’t understand how no one was injured during the recording, but I scream my heart out whenever it comes on the radio. Cheesy power ballads–I feel the same way about Lonestars “Amazed,” and “I’m Already There.” I feel dirty about it, though. ---

Said it before, I’ll say it again: _If It’s In You_ by Syd Barrett. So over-the-top bad that it seems like it was originally written as a parody of a so-bad-it’s-good song. Very very bad singing, cheesy lyrics, simplified folk chords, EXCEPT: Syd evidently did a bad take on it, messing up several times in the recording, even pausing. They issued that take. So it’s a bad take of a parody of a so-bad-it’s-good song. ---

Anything by Avril Levigne. I don’t seek her out, but when her songs come on the sound system at my gym I can’t help but listen. It’s like pressing a sore spot to see it it’s still sore. Actually they’re not bad songs, but a lot of them just have something that rubs me the wrong way. For instance, in _Don’t Tell Me_, where she threatens the guy with an ass kicking. And the way in _Skater Boy_ where she says they rock each others’ “wayoyurlllld”. What is it with her and the weird pronunciations anyway? ---

Gwen Stefani, _Hollaback Girl_. It’s NOT a good song. It’s not! But it does have a catchy beat and I find myself keeping it on the radio when it comes on. Then, of course, it gets stuck in my head. _It’s bananas! B-A-N-A-N-A-S!_ ---
