I just came on to post “Ramones”, and to cite that it is, AFAIK, unique among such songs in that it’s a cover of a song originally written _about_ the band by a different band, namely Motorhead. ---

Maybe doesn’t count because you’ve never heard of them but I was in a band called “The Real Darrins” and we played a song called “The Real Darrin”. ---

There was an ABC Saturday morning show in 1977 called [Kaptain Kool and the Kongs](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1358208/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_1_tt_1_nm_7_in_0_q_Kaptain%2520Kool%2520and%2520the%2520Kongs), produced by the Sid and Mart Krofft organization.
