My darkest secret? I really like The Captain and Tennille’s “Muskrat Love.” It just makes me smile when I sing along. Also, I too love the harmonies in “Afternoon Delight.” There are more, but I’ve embarrassed myself enough for one post. 😳 ---

My taste in music is pretty eclectic: I know most of the songs mentioned so far, and I like them all! I did know that. I also looked up who else has covered it, and one of my fave musicians, Paul Westerberg, is on that list. So I listened to it. It’s not good. He might have been intoxicated. ---

I file most of these as novelty songs. I tell myself they were intended as satire. “Afternoon Delight” “Muskrat Love” “Horse With No Name” “Red Solo Cup” I have no excuse for the theme song from _Grizzly Adams_. ---

They decided to play the entire song, and they hadn’t even gotten to the midpoint when everyone just walked off the dance floor. And still the band played on. With some songs the AM radio version actually WAS better. ---

I worked on the dish crew at a Scout camp during middle school, and the five kitchen workers shared a cabin. One guy brought a portable record player and ONE album… guess which one. But I thought it was pretty cool to fall asleep to every night. eta: I wonder if I’d go right to sleep if I played that…? Hmmm… would some residual conditioning persist 57 years later? ---
