I opened this thread solely to proclaim my hatred of “Bennie and the Jets.” For some ungodly reason, my boss has been putting the radio on a local soft-rock station and I hear “Bennie and the Jets” every damned day. It wasn’t even good the first time. I managed to shove Creed entirely out of my mind until this thead. Thanks. Is Five for Fighting’s song that “We’ve only got one hundred years…to live” song? Regardless, I hate it. ---

Gary Puckett and the Union Gap - anything by them. I only need to hear the first note or two of any of their stuff, and my hand is instantly on the scan button. GAH! ---

I HATEHATEHATE that stupid song that gets overplayed on the R&B stations - “This is how we do it” or something like that - I never bothered to find out the name because I hate it so much that I always change the station. That and any screechy hoochie-mama wailing music. You know, ghetto yodeling. ---

Wow. Tough crowd. Sweet Home Alabama??? Music is generally pretty beautiful I think. That said, if ever a blind man deserved to get his ass kicked it’s Stevie Wonder for composing “I Just Called to Say I Love You.” Now that song **SUCKS**. GG. ---

You know one of the worst things about Whitney Houston’s version of I Will Always Love You? (Also goes for the current Jessica Simpson? version of Take My Breath Away.) I think those songs were popular when they came out because of the movies they belonged in. I would far rather associate I Will Always Love You with a whore telling a sheriff to leave her for the sake of his political career than with a ghetto-yodeling pop singer. To me, Take My Breath Away brings to mind Tom Cruise flying a plane. It has nothing to do with this blond bimbette who is not improving on the original version! ---

Just overheard from a passing car on the way: Dancing in the Moonlight, by Toploader (not the Thin Lizzy song) I hate everything about this, from the floppy haired toilet of a singer, to the fact it reminds me of Jamie Oliver, who I also hate. I am now going to listen to Public Enemy until it is expunged from my mind. ---
