You mean tunes my neighbors get sick of hearing over and over and…? Pachelbel’s (sp?) D major canon for one. Styx: “Crystal Ball,” Dream Theater: “The Killing Hand,” Goo Goo Dolls: “Long Way Down.”

This weekend I listened to “Mambo #5” and “1+1=2” by Lou Bega over and over and over. I might be getting a little sick of it though.

Beethoven’s Ode to Joy will never grow stale, however, nor will the first and last movements of Saint-Saens’ Symphony #3 (Organ).

For some reason, I can listen to any Gin Blossoms song over and over and never get sick of it. I don’t know why…they’re not my favorite artists, nor their songs my favorite songs, by any means. But for some reasons, their music sounds “fresh” every time I hear it.

Boy, you are an awfully pop/rock oriented bunch of folks!

For some variety, how about:

The Rite of Spring, Igor Stravinski.

The Planets, Gustov Holst.

Antonin Dvorak’s 9th Symphony.

Any of the Chopin Preludes, but especially No’s 12, 16, and 24.

Ashley MacIsaac’s rendition of Sleepy Maggy. The Gaelic lyrics sung by whatzername (Mary Jane somebody?) sound really haunting to my ear (maybe because I can’t speak Gaelic!).

Tocatta & Fugue in D Minor, by JS Bach.

I can listen to any of those repeatedly without growing tired of them.

Ok, this wasn’t the topic, but in my not very humble opinion :-), I bet that 500 years from now people will still be listening to Johann, Ludwig, Wolfgang, and Gustov, but nobody will have heard of Mourisette, Crow, Michaels, or dare I say it, even Floyd. Go ahead, flame away!!

And does anybody actually read threads like this, or are they write-only? 🙂
