Is it cheating to say Yellow Ledbetter? I listen to a lot of punk, ska, hardcore; stuff that generally involves very fast and often clipped/mumbled lyrics. I do eventually get around to looking up lyrics for some favorite songs, but the vast majority I only know a few words here and there. I generally learn the chorus. ---

Brown Sugar - Stones It came on today, I was (sort of) singing along. I always thought it was about having a black girlfriend - I looked up the lyrics, boy, was I wrong! Side note, when I googled it, a picture of a packet of brown sugar came up (an English thing?) and I wondered if that’s where Mick got the idea? ---

Holy crap, that’s what I always thought too. I always knew that I wasn’t understanding all of the lyrics; now I see that I wasn’t understanding any of them. ---
