On rethinking the content of this thread, I’ve come to the conclusion that, while many of his expressed attitudes are regrettable, **Ace** did have a strong point here. And it’s one that (except for **gobear** ) I think we’ve all missed. _He was being taken for granted by his midnight caller_. His personal identity and presumptive tastes were being disregarded by someone who was sexually attracted to him and therefore invaded his privacy. If someone were to say that **gobear** needs to (magically somehow) turn straight and get himself a good woman to fix up his life, we’d be down on that person like ducks on a Junebug. Why? Not because being gay is something particularly sacrosanct, but because **gobear** has a right to his own life, his own tastes, and it would be highly offensive of that hypothetical poster to assume that what works for him/her is what will work for **gobear**. If **Ace** ’s caller, on being rebuffed, had called up **Guinastasia** or **jarbaby** for a little action, I trust you would be as offended as I at the presumption he would have in assuming that they would be interested in a bit of casual sex with him.
