My father received home care through Medicaid and was eligible for 24 hour care in NYC, so it may be a county decision. Although income and the care needed certainly matter, too - I’m sure he wouldn’t have been approved for 24 hour care if day care had been appropriate for his needs.
Welp. I’m still alive, I deposited the check for my share of the house in the bank, and it is now officially part of my ‘estate’ to leave to my babby someday. As long as the check doesn’t bounce, it’s all good. Bro says if he sells the house, he will send me another (though smaller) check for my part, but I am so glad to be free of the place. I’m content.
