Let us use this thread to hammer out the drinking-game rules, and, later, to comment-while-watching. [CNN does a “reality check” on Obama’s most recent proposals, which presumably he will mention in the speech.](http://www.cnn.com/2015/01/15/politics/obama-sotu-proposals/) (They’re not skeptical that the proposals would work, but that Obama has any chance of getting the Pub Congress to go along with them.) I do wonder if the RW SCOTUS justices will boycott again. ---

The repubs didn’t drink the Kool Aid. Their heads didn’t explode. I’m generally disappointed. I like everything Obama mentions, especially the infrastructure. ETA: Did he just bomb the republican hecklers with, “I know, 'cause I won 'em both?” 😃 😃 ---

I don’t know, John looked pretty close to the edge through most of it… but maybe that’s how he always looks. There was someone in the front row who seemed to be in good spirits. For some reason I had it in my head that it was Howard Dean, but looking at a picture I was way off base. Was it Mitt? ETA, not Mitt, I’m not sure who it was… ETA2, I think it was (a 10 year older) John Kerry, which makes sense. Economy, infrastructure, equal rights, women’s rights, Internet, defense, terrorism, help for middle class… Yes, we need all this, but… That’s why I typically don’t like ANY of the SOTUs. It’s like your first time-share meeting in Boca. Sounds great to the ears and sounds more impossible to make it work when you read about it. ---
