soul meets soul on lovers' lips - a kissable MMP

I’m so glad to hear FCD is home – here’s hoping his temp goes away quickly and he feels better soon! How long is he expected to be a semi-invalid?

Gotti, I’ve heard good things about Tramadol, too. There’s some reason I can’t take it – I forget what it is right now, but I know that when my doc suggested looking at it for me, one of the very first contraindications was something that utterly ruled it out for me. But I’ve known folks who had great success with it. Plus it’s not an opiate, which I know a lot of docs prefer. But whatever the case, I hope you feel better soon! My new knee is hurting from all the driving I did, particularly an unexpected 3-hour drive Monday that I will explain further in next week’s MMP, but certainly nothing like you’re hurting! I really feel for you, though, pain is miserable!

Can someone figure out how I can get my butt in gear today? Thus far I have mostly sat here at my computer and tried to work, “tried” being the operative word because my attempts have thus far led to practically zero results. The only thing I’ve done successfully thus far is take Isaac out to play, which made him SOOOO happy. Actually, just coming home made him SOOOO happy – poor baby, first snowbunny abandoned him and then I left, too, and apparently he went into a blue funk for several days! And Papa Tigs said that Rusty would wander around the house looking sadly for me. <sniffle> I hate breaking my puppies’ hearts, but that’s what always happens when I go away because I’m the one who’s always here, so my absence really upsets their schedule! Anyway, they’re both fat, dumb, and happy today, and actually became that way about 5 seconds before I even got in the car at the airport, as they both saw me and began bouncing with joy. Plus they’d gotten to go to the Bestest Place Ever on Sunday for a swim since Papa Tigs’ back was feeling enough better he could throw their toys. Silly doggies, they have such a hard life!

But anyway, I’m still not getting any work done.

Rosie, the last yarn I needed to start your ruana arrived while I was gone, so it’s next on my priority list! I think you’ll like it – all kinds of pretty colors!

I just want to go crawl in bed and veg out in front of the TV and knit. But I have work that needs to be done. Darn it, why can’t I win the lottery so I can spend my life being lazy???

Critters have been fed, **FCD ** crawled out here to crash on the couch, where he’s snoring away right now. He’ll have a visiting nurse come by in a couple of weeks to remove his staples, then 2 weeks after that, I’ll take him back to see his surgeon. If all goes well, he’ll be allowed to go to work right after that.

I have to have a fasting blood test in the morning, but other than that, nothing planned - clay work, I hope. And laundry.

All of a sudden, I’m exhausted - I guess 3 nights of stressful, restless sleep has taken its toll. I may have a little wine at bedtime. For medicinal reasons only, of course.

Wheeeeeee!

Howdy Y’all! Home from work (ok, been home for a while) and showered. In a bit I’ll need to put on real clothes (as opposed to the nightshirt I’m wearin’ right now. it’s a lovely shade of medium blue.) and go over to the church house with ol’ y’all know who (who really did share his ‘nanner puddin’ at work!) and a hyuuuuuuuuuuge ‘nanner puddin’. Know what though? I really don’t wanna. I’d really rather just stay home. However, that ain’t an option. If’n I did I might have an angry mob of Episcopalians show up spoons in hand demandin’ ‘nanner puddin’.

rigs the beauty of multiple production lines is that they’re all breakdowns waiting to happen. That’s why each line has a dedicated electrician and mechanic for each shift. Let me tell ya, those folks are paid well and they work for it too. Today’s biiiiiiig episode involved a bottle line and yet again Chill. Seems the video inkjet barcoder went all haywire and might or might not print a barcode on any given bottle. Thus, re-select will have a wonderful job of lookin’ at bottles of Chill to see whether or not a barcode was printed on the bottle and also whether or not said barcode is legible. Illegible barcoded beer bottles get tossed. The others get recased. How I envy the folks in re-select! I on the other hand got to deal with a packer that started out bein’ a troublemaker but calmed down and ran smoothly after the first hour. YAY! It’s kinda fun to walk by a line, notice sump’n ain’t runnin’ and speculatin’ as to what went wrong this time. It’s how we entertain ourselves at da brewry.

Ok, gotta go think about real clothes. Le Sigh.

Later Y’all!

I just got an image of dozens of unkempt guys in t-shirts with their beer guts hangin’ out, carrying torches and stormin’ da cave.

Happy Birthday, Mindfield!

Okay, message board codes can officially go bite the bullet now. whines and wishes HTML were used universally

Wow, there’s a lot of people going through some tough times lately. :frowning: Gotti, I hope your pain lessens soon. FCM, glad to hear that FCD’s back, and here’s wishing him a speedy recovery! SpecialOne, I hope your mother’s pain will be eased as much as possible. {{hugs to all}}

Oooooh… ‘Nanner puddin’ sounds absolutely delicious, swampy… I’m envious of those

who will no doubt be after yer cookin’s.

I told Ali about the First Kiss Typo Incident. He laughed at me, simultaneously making me feel comforted and more like an idiot. He’s very good at doing that.

Very interesting info on the Grand Jury, FCM; thanks for sharing with us what you can. Do they pay any stipend, btw? (my daughter asked.) Every other week isn’t too bad, I guess - but till March is quite some time!

Wish I was down in Georgia to have some of Swampy’s 'nanner pudding!! I should get involved with my local Episcopal church again–my kids and I went for a couple of years when they were much younger, but fell by the wayside due to laziness. Maybe my daughter and I will go again, hopefully before Christmas!

Prayers going out to SpecialOne and gentle {{{{{hugs}}}}}.

**tarra ** - they pay $15 for “expenses” - whatever that means. But they’ve got a program where you can donate your expense voucher to social services for poor/homeless kids. They use the funds to buy school supplies, fund summer camps, and a whole bunch other stuff that I can’t remember. I signed over all of my expense money for that. I’m fortunate that $15 every other week pretty much means nothing to me, and it’s for kids, fercryinoutloud!

Related to that - in the information packet we got, it clearly spelled out where you can go to cash the vouchers - only a couple of locations. When we had our indoc talk, we were told the very same thing, including exactly where the 2 bank branches are located. But the ditzoid stopped at the desk on the way out to ask “Can I cash this at any bank?”

Oh yeah - one other juror - a very (for want of a better word) proper older black woman who sat next to me turned out to be a retired teacher. She offered me some advice I could pass to my daughter, and she was very encouraging. I asked what grades she’d taught. Would you believe PreK4 through graduate courses?!?!? And she said she’d absolutely loved it, but she retired when the paperwork crap (my word, not hers) got to be too much. When I used the work “proper” above, it wasn’t to suggest that she was prim and priggish. But her carriage and demeanor suggested that she had certain very high expectations and I felt like I didn’t want to let her down. Does that make sense? Anyway, she was a very nice woman and I’m hoping to get to know her better in the coming months.

**FCD ** is drugged and watching TV behind me. He’s in a lot of pain and it kills me that I can’t do anything to make it better. I’m sure in another couple of days, he’ll be about back to normal. It’ll be a tough couple of days.

My feet are cold - I need socks.

FCM–it absolutely does make sense. There are still some older women whom I make sure I stand up straight for… Glad to hear FCD is home-hope the pain abates soon. And the GJ sounds fascinating. Could you do 12 angry men in clay (just kidding).

[Johnny Cash impression] Swamp walks the line[/JCI]

I am home from a busy day at work. I am bummed–I am working Halloween. :frowning:

AND she has be working Tgiving Eve and the Day After. I am having Tgiving this year. Argh.

sorrys to those in pain; hellos all round etc. Off to do nothing for a bit then The War. And work again…

Just a quick drive-by to say

Happy Birthday, Mindfield!

The NerdMobile now proudly sports my VBOB custom license plate.

photographic evidence, please

Mom’s on the plane. My house is my house again.

I’m eating leftover pizza and Fresca.

You envy my lust for life, don’t you?

Hi, if2x! How’s it goin’?

LOUNE: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:
Also, we don’t have family in the sticks anymore. Mom lives in Mexico City, bro lives outside Cincinnati, I live…well…here.

To whoever asked: yes, we’re celebrating just one birthday, but he has many nicknames.

Hugs to all who are in pain and have family not doing well. Feel free to stop by even if you’re not cheerful, SO. Hope FCD’s pain subsides quickly.

Welcome back, BioTigs! Glad you had fun.

gotti, you might also want to talk to a pharmacist about recommendations for other pain meds.

Sounds like an interesting grand jury experience, FCM.

Sorry, Mom couldn’t stay longer, MBG.

I’m tired, but cleaning up. Made another run to Kohl’s for a couple of items (including a new Ohio State sweatshirt). I only (used to) own one and it’s blue, which is probably illegal in Columbus.

Well…off to put stuff away.

Back later, maybe.

GT

Looooong day. I’m pooped. Gonna crash soon. Hope sweetie and I can sleep thru the night - we both need it.

Nighty-night!!

Thanks again for the birthday wishes, folks. The MIL made me some waikiki balls (meatballs in a sweet & sour sauce with bits of pineapple and bell peppers – it’s delish) so I had some for dinner and watched the season premiere of CSI:NY.

Talked to my dad, and he’s all hot 'n bothered about a USB turntable for his computer, so I think I know what I’m getting him for Christmas if he doesn’t go and get one beforehand. He’s got a pretty large collection of 78RPM records he’s been wanting to convert to CD for years so this would let him accomplish that with a level of simplicity befitting his pretty basic-level computer savvy. (In spite of that I’ll probably still have to give him some help somewhere along the line.) I didn’t think I’d be buying him hardware this year as I’ve done for the last few years, but I know this is something he’d definitely want to do more than anything else.

Anyway, back to more season premieres.

They’re yours, I guess, although I expect you to share if you haven’t finished them off and somebody wants one. I still have six Corona Lights and two Molson XXXs left, though.

Actually, it’s usually doggio who steals the capitals. Also pronouns and verbs.

Did I mention I bought dark chocolate M&Ms? They had them at Target and they were calling out to me.

Stuff is looking more put away. Yay!

GT

Well, it’s over.

It’s 4 AM here. Initial paperwork has been dealt with; we’re all going to sleep and will continue arrangements in the morning.

I’m oddly (or not so oddly) relieved.

Quick scan through. Love to you all. Off to bed.
