Is there a program that I can download which would allow me to record a voice sample and add a deep echo or other cool effects? Freeware is preferred , but not essential (It also has to be able to export the sound has a wave). Thanks.

There are a couple of options on [this](http://www.lab1.kuis.kyoto-u.ac.jp/members/komaki/tools.html) page, under the “Sound Tools For Windows” header. I usually use the Goldwave sample editor and it’s always worked really well for me.

[Cool Edit 96](http://www.adobe.com/special/products/audition/syntrillium.html) does all sorts of stuff and it was free when I got it years ago but I don’t know if that has changed now that Adobe bought them. It allows changing the pitch of the voice and all sorts of cool stuff.

Audacity is an open source sound editor that I find myself using more and more. It’s fairly easy to use and is suprisingly powerful. It’s available for Windows, Mac and Linux.
