Soundproofing a small generator?

During an ice storm I used a generator to run the gas furnace, lights and satellite TV. That was on five acres in the country. I have a similar setup in the city now. My worry now is theft of the generator. How do you guys secure the generator?

As I said, I keep the generator on the deck. I use a 12" Kryptonite U-lock around one of the 4x4 roof support posts, and with the loop of 7-foot Kryptonite cable on one of ‘U’ of the lock. The other loop of the cable is connected to another 7-foot cable with a Kryptonite round padlock. The other end of that cable goes around the frame of the generator, and is secured by a lock that is of similar construction to a Master lock, only is larger.
I think the set-up would keep a casual thief honest, and it allows me to move the generator around on the deck.

Thanks, Johnny.

Has anyone tried bolt cutters on kryptonite cable?
